Servers have it rough going these days. Unlike the Japanese,
who work sans tips, food service is all about the customer’s money. No matter
how tired someone is or how run down, they still have to put on the smile and
cheer for the sake of the consumer. Smile! even if that consumer is insulting
you or behaving like a grown infant, complete with adult diapers, don’t ever
lose that smile! If you lose the smile then you lose the money. If you lose the
money then you lose eating dinner. If you lose your dinner then you lose your
life.
Rude customers are the worst. The fact that restaurants think they can pay servers less that three bucks an hour because you'll "probably" make up the difference in tips is even worse. The worst of the worst is customers who throw a fit even though nothing is wrong just to get a free meal, and having to watch the manager scrape and bow to these spoiled assholes. I wish it were acceptable to tell some people to just quit whining. "My eggs are cold!" Well maybe you should have ate them when they were brought to your table instead of spending the next ten minutes absorbed in your phone. Griiiiiiife
